TCI Tricone Bit IADC 537
1. Motor hardfacing: Tungsten carbide particle hardfacing is applied liberally along the shirttail and extended up the leading edge of the bit leg for additional protection in high-speed, directional or abrasive applications.
2. Shirttail Compacts: Tungsten carbide compacts are added to the shirttail to reduce leg wear in abrasive formations and deviated or horizontal wellbores.
3. G-Gauge protection: more tungsten carbide inserts are placed in the gauge to reduce the wear in the abrasive formation. It can protect gauge and increases the stability and life of the bit.
4. Additional reaming gauge row: protects shirttail and reduces thermal effect on sealing and enhances ROP of the bit.
5. Additional rows of teeth: the additional rows of teeth increase drilling efficiency and durability without sacrificing ROP .There is more evenly distributed WOB without tracking and with less off-center running.
Application: Suitable for very soft formation with low compressive strength and high drillability ,such as clay, mudstone, gypsum and soft limestone, etc.
